Occupy
Late last night, I was working on some photos but this time I didn't really sleep until 3 something in the morning. I had to wake up at 6 something in the morning for my 8:30 class. After class, went out and shoot for my upcoming final. I wanted to re-shoot this location on a hill that I did a while back with Steven. After about 2 hours of walking up and down hills, got tired and decided to call it quits. I ended up calling Steven and by my luck I was able to find it. While on my way to the location, all I can hear is helicopters in the sky and it usually means something big is going down. After finding the spot, I saw more and more police and decided to pass on the location and come back another day. By my luck, I found out that it was the Occupy San Francisco Protest going on. I didn't have quite the right shoes and was tired as hell from last night, but I rushed and got another opportunity to photograph a historical event in the making. I was pretty much sweating the entire time because I don't slack off and I know for a fact I'm not sure when I am able to photograph the protest.During the protest, they invaded the Bank of America and basically trashed the place down in the Financial District. Afterwards you can see the police come in with the handcuffs and wires for arresting. I believe I was a bit to close to the police and the protesters that I was almost arrested. I decided to relax and stay back a bit. The crowd of protesters moved from the buildings to the streets marching down Market. My leg started to hurt really bad that I couldn't walk at that point so I decided to head home. I wouldn't say I was disappointed that I couldn't continue along with the Occupy SF protesters, but I was happy enough to photograph something in the making. Sometimes I risk my life just for a photograph, but in the end it's worth it. All I can say, I have a passion and love what I do.
