Daily Adventures 063

For the past few months, I haven't actually blog how I use to. I somewhat stopped writing details through out my day and simply put where, who, or what I did in one sentence. For those who are curious on what's going on with my life, feel free to read or simply scroll on down and enjoy the photos!

My last class for this semester was this past Monday. I had to take a final exam just like any other student and I'm very sure I passed. Lets just say I'm at a solid B or a low A for each final exam. I'm very happy about that. I have four months of freedom before I end up going back to school again. The common question or questions I get asked is "How much longer do you have at school?" or "When will you graduate?"

To answer that, I basically have about 3 more years until I graduate with a BFA in Photography. Yes... 3 more years and I have been at Academy of Art University for exactly 3 years coming this Fall of 2013. I can tell you this; it is impossible for an Art student to graduate in 4 years. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's true. Unless you take a full load of classes and take summer school, its still a small chance you may not. All courses are accelerated and move at a very fast pace compared to other schools depending on what your major is. It seems very easy at first, but the longer you stay, the harder it seems and things change whether it's for the good or bad, usually the good I hope.

One thing is that the school is very expensive and that plays a huge role why it takes so long to graduate. I have friends who went to Academy of Art and didn't graduate in 4 years. It took them 5 to 6 years. Sure, if you got cash to blow or if you're rich, than it's no problem. Coming from me, I'm taking out loans, but it can only help me so much. It's very difficult to state what position I am in when it comes to money and loans. Basically If I had more money, it would be easier for myself. Whether you're doing it for yourself, or to prove someone wrong or to make your parents happy, there is always a reason why you're doing it.

I still currently work for Fully Laced and probably for a long time. Besides being apart of an online magazine company called FKN-FMS, a part time restorer for sneakers, and a labor of love for blogging, I have another job. I now work for a wedding photo and video company called George Street Photo as a wedding photographer! Even with these five, I still manage time for family and friends. Again nothing has changed, I have matured a lot. Ever since I have been with George Street Photo, I have been booked several weddings. Some are local while others are outside the Bay Area. The process took a while, but in the end, it worked out well. I just had to be patient.

Possibly in a few years or maybe less, I will be in the wedding field as a photographer. Honestly I never thought I would be photographing weddings. It was not until I felt ready to take one on in 2011 with two of my good friends. From there, my expectations for what I really thought it was, wasn't. It was fun, enjoyable, and I learned a lot. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be a wedding photographer. At the same time still covering events. I believe being with his company will benefit me for the future. My main goal for 2013 was to book more weddings compared to last year as well as twice the amount of events I covered last year. So far, the main goal has been set and I am very ecstatic to see what opportunities arise for me.

When the month of June comes around, Mindy & I shall be in Las Vegas on the 18th - 24th. We will mainly be there for EDC but looking to go one day, most likely Friday. We're going to just enjoy ourselves for a much needed vacation. You probably notice a chance in photos in terms of closer shots rather than wide angle shots. During the grand opening night show for the Bay Brige LED show, my 17-35mm lens ended up being splashed with water heavily. It got salt water damage which makes the lens not focus anymore. I am now back to only have a 50mm lens. At times I wish I had another lens but the 50mm is still putting in work. I plan on getting my 24-70mm lens back after Las Vegas. I still have a few more plans that are coming in July & August but I can't state anything at the moment. For now, sit back and kindly enjoy these photos.
