Nevada & Arizona - 2019
For my birthday this year, decided to take a trip out to Las Vegas for 4th of July weekend with Monica. It was the first time seeing fireworks on the Las Vegas strip. It was a pretty cool experience. The next day, Monica and I went to visit Valley of Fire for the first time since it was only an hour drive up north. Valley of Fire was such a dope spot and I always wanted to check it out. It was peaceful and pretty relaxing. The crazy thing is that I yelled at the top of my lungs and you can hear it echo.We then took a drive to Arizona to stay the night because we were doing the tour for Antelope Canyon very early morning. Antelope Canyon was one of those photography spots I've always wanted to do ever since I've seen photos of it on the internet. Majority of the time, it's unavailable or just completely booked. I probably booked it like 4-6 months in advanced and got a great time slot. I believe since it's on an Indian reserved land, you have to go with a tour guide and can't randomly pop up.
Since there is an Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon, we did the Lower Antelope Canyon Tour. I must say, it was amazing and a beautiful experience! One thing I did want to mention was we felt rushed. You go in as groups which can have 5 to 10 people per group. It was about 8 groups when we went for our time slot. We were a middle group number, so the group behind us kept rushing us even when another group was ahead of us. It's one thing to keep things moving forward with a quick pace but if I simply want to get a photo where no one was in it, it was difficult to do so. Overall I would definitely do it again.
Afterwards we headed back to Las Vegas on my birthday. We stopped by another new photo location, Seven Magic Mountains. This spot had actual large rocks that are neon colored. Since our flight going back home was later in the evening, we decided to do Top Golf for the first time. Really fun experience. Overall this birthday weekend was one to remember!
