San Diego, Day 2
Day two of San Diego, and this shall be me and Mindy's last day here before were off to Los Angeles for more fun and adventures. Day started off in the afternoon because we were waiting for Isaac to pick up us from my cousins place since he decided to drive around and show us all over San Diego. First, we headed downtown to Horton Plaza which was pretty cool but we pretty much only went their to park to avoid paying. Hit up a few more spots, but while walking towards them, we ran into this old school and you can say rare car showcase. They had some pretty nice classic cars in there. I was told that 5&A Dime had some pretty good stuff. 5&A Dime had some interesting things and pretty chill nice people. Right behind the counter was an actual Kodak Land Camera which you don't often see in stores that you would least expect it.While in 5&A Dime, Irvin, his girlfriend, and her dog meet up with us. Pretty unexpected because I wasn't sure that was him but it was for sure. Since we were all hungry, we decided to eat at Wet Willie's which was not bad at all. Met up with Mike who was another friend of thiers and into sneakers like majority of us. Since we were running on time we headed back to Horton Plaza and headed out to HillCrest to check out a few more spots. We ended up in this Vintage and rare sneaker place that had me in amazment. It took me a while to indulge what they had because simply I have never been to a store that had sneakers you normally do not see. Majority is original Nike's, but still a had some variety. The oldest sneaker would be from the 70's, still mind blown. That was a major highlight because Isaac and Mike knew I was heavily into sneakers. The guy who works and own the place was Demetriz
Afterwards, we headed down to Balboa Park to meet up with a few more people who we have been expecting. Meet up with Frank who were friends with Isaac & Mike. Walked around since I have never been here and I really enjoyed the scenery. Walked around for the most part, looking at khoi fish, turtles, & people taking photos. While walking, families would ask me to take pictures for them which I don't find it weird at all. We all decided to rest and wait for Derek, Kat, & May. I've known Derek & Kat for a while, but we actually never met in person at all. Just like now a days, you meet majority of people though the internet or networking basically. Headed off to Crab Hut since everyone wanted to eat which from their we got some Tapioca Express since the wait at Crab Hut was a while. While waiting, we meet up with Marvin & Ant who were again into sneakers like majority of us. Ate at Crab Hut, talked, & then headed to U-31 which was a cocktail lounge who they told me Mike Suto is a local photographer. Had a few drinks here and meet Mike who was pretty chill.
All in all, a very enjoyful and delightful day. The best part of course are the ones who showed Mindy & I around and actually took their time to meet up with us. I just wanna say thank you to Isaac for driving and showing us around San Diego. Thank you and of course a shout out goes to Irvin, his girlfriend(Sorry I forgot her name, I'm bad with names), & their dog, Mike, Frank, Kat, Derek, May, Marvin, Ant, Mikes girlfriend, & Mike S. I appreciate it very much. You guys mad my stay better then I expected, and for more memories to come in the future. Thank you again.
